David Pollak writes in the San Jose Mercury News, “The first twin was the one the Sharks had in their sights early Saturday. When his brother was still available at the tail end of the 2008 NHL entry draft in Ottawa, well, why not? So the Sharks ended the day as they began it, drafting a Daniels brother out of Kent School in Connecticut. After using their first pick of the day to select center Justin Daniels, they used their last one to lock up right wing Drew Daniels. But, director of scouting Tim Burke stressed, which of the 19-year-old twins was drafted first no longer means anything.”
